A large fieldstone monument more than 2.4 m tall. Complete reconstruction and landscaping of a large family grave at Gauriņi Cemetery in Jelgava Municipality in November 2020. The gravestone composition was created from three parts of a single huge fieldstone. The front of the gravestone has been left with its natural split face, and the back with the natural texture of the stone. To install this monument we used a “tripod”, a tool once popular with stonemasons, as gravestones used to be installed on a far more monumental scale than in recent decades. This is one of the largest family graves we have landscaped. The total area of the grave is 112.5 m2: a burial area 7.5 m wide and 15 metres deep, levelled and built as a single family burial ground with monumental granite borders around the perimeter, a large fieldstone as a unifying element, a paved path between the family burials, grave benches, and the names of the buried relatives in bronze on pillow plaques on the grave borders.
